Raytown leaders like what they see in proposed logo design

Raytown is getting a new logotype to go along with its new vision. Since February 2005, 14 community volunteers have worked on a branding study that included surveys and focus groups to design a new symbol.
The city’s current logo design represents a blacksmith, founder William Ray, but didn’t quite resonate with Raytown for the 21st century, Mayor Sue Frank said. People wondered if the design were someone “chopping the heads off chickens,” she said.
The new logo design was unveiled at a recent Board of Aldermen meeting. With some refinements, the city is expected to adopt it for the official city correspondence.
